About the association

The non-profit association Charta der Vielfalt e. V. was founded on the 10th of September in 2010 and began working in March 2011. It designs the activities of the Charta der Vielfalt company initiative and assumes financial responsibility. The members of the association are almost exclusively large companies. This will ensure the Charta der Vielfalt is positioned more strongly in the business world, returning to its origin as a company initiative.

Aim

The association is committed to embedding diversity in the economy and society. It is an agenda setter for diversity management in Germany and in so doing it aims particularly to

• win more companies and organisations to commit themselves to the principles of the Charta der Vielfalt
• inform about diversity management as an instrument for developing a respectful and open organisational culture,
• support the existing signatories in learning from each other and exchanging experience about the aims of the association,
• support the existing signatories in implementing diversity management.

Structure

The association Charta der Vielfalt e. V. consists of three committees:
 

• The members’ meeting is the governing body of the initiative. It decisively determines strategic development and conceptual orientation. The ordinary meetings take place twice a year.
• A board is elected from the members’ meeting; the board conducts the business of the association. It meets at quarterly intervals. At the members’ meeting on 23 June 2021 Ana-Cristina Grohnert was reappointed to the board. Newly elected were Frank Rusko (Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH), Nina Straßner (SAP SE) and Dr. Eva Voß (BNP Paribas Deutschland). The Integration Commissioner for the Federal Government is also a permanent member of the board.
• The initiative’s operational activities and projects are planned and carried out by an office. The board appoints the management of the office and determines the strategic guidelines of the activities.
