The “Age” dimension plays a major role for organisations in Germany because of demographic change. In mixed-age teams, differing values, attitudes and levels of experience confront each other head on. That can be challenging and demanding – but also rewarding.
What you can do
- Put together mixed-age teams and ensure that all generations treat each other appreciatively.
- Secure knowledge transfer by mentoring – in both directions: the younger people help the older ones, and the older ones the younger.
- Provide measures like development opportunities and health interventions so that your employees stay physically and professionally fit.
- Establish flexible working hours and conditions wherever possible. In this way you create space for individual preventative health care or caring for sick or elderly relatives.
