RWTH Aachen, Integration Team - Human Resources, Gender and Diversity Management Do Science Norms lncrease Gender lnequality in the Academia?

Anne-Sophie Godfroy is an Associate Professor at the University Paris Sorbonne and the National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS). Anne-Sophie Godfroy presents first results of the EU funded project „GenderTime”. „GenderTime” identifies and implements the best systemic approach to increase the participation and career advancement of women researchers in 8 selected institutions, intentionally very different in terms of size, discipline, history, in order to experiment in various situations. The presentation will focus on how to measure the effectiveness of action plans. One hypothesis is that women’s career profiles are cumulatively disadvantaged by the dominant criteria for research evaluation as they are often more pluridisciplinary or on the border of different fields. The interest of such an approach is to integrate gender issues directly into science evaluation. The language of this event is English.
